Moneytalk Financial Foundations is a registered charitable 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Our mission is to break the cycle of poverty and stabilize families by providing basic financial life-skill education with continuing support for low-income and offender individuals, including their families, in a faith-based Christian environment.
Workshops are taught within non-profit organizations, schools, specialty groups, churches, and public locations. Our case management program involves working with individuals and couples in a one-on-one environment walking them through the process of becoming financially self-sufficient.
The Basic Financial Foundation program teaches workshops on:
- Goals – how to set good goals and make a plan to achieve them
- Budgeting – how to create and successfully use a money management plan
- Banking – what is a bank account, getting money in, taking money out, tracking your balance in your register, reconciling with the bank, and lots of best practices tips for success.
- Insurance – why you should have some, and which types are most important
- Investment – basic terminology, stocks vs bonds, account types
- Taxes – payroll, sales, property, income,
- Credit Report & Bankruptcy – what they are about and what they mean
- Protecting Your Identity – simple steps to protect your identity and initial steps to take if you are a victim
- Teaching parents how to teach their kids about financial life skills
Case Management involves working with individuals and couples in a one-on-one environment to help clarify their current situation, needs, resources available, and on through to financial self-sufficiency.
